Tour Excitement Mounts Plus Three More Shows

(U2.com) -- A second Miami show (March 26th), a fourth Boston show (June 9th)
and a stop in Hartford (June 3rd) are the latest additions to
U2's upcoming North American tour.
And the extent of fans enthusiasm for the tour is illustrated by a new
poll for Billboard.com. U2's Elevation Tour garnered 45.8% of 4,676
votes as the tour fans are most excited about. According to
DailyMusicNews, 'Madonna's planned but as-yet-unscheduled tour
finishing a distant second with 16.1%'
Next was the Outkast/Ludacris pairing, with 9.5%, followed by
backstreet Boys (7.3%). Also mentioned were tours from Eric
Clapton (3.6%), Oasis/Black Crowes (3.3%) and The Barenaked
ladies with 1.8%.
Elevation 2001 sales skyrocketed again last weekend as tickets
for a 4th and final show in Chicago at the United Center on May 16th
sold out in less than one hour. In addition to Chicago, performances
in Houston and Albany also sold out.
Due to overwhelming demand, a 2nd performance in Miami (the tour
opener), will now take place on Monday, March 26th. A 4th
performance in Boston is added on Saturday, June 9th at the
Fleetcenter, which changes the itinerary slightly. The Buffalo
performance will now take place at the HSBC Arena on Thursday,
May 31st. The Hartford performance will now take place at the
Civic Center on Sunday, June 3rd.
Registered members of U2.COM will again have the opportunity to
participate in a pre-sale of tickets to these latest three
shows - a new password will be issued shortly.
The public onsale for tickets for these latest three shows is:
- second Miami show, this Friday, February 2nd at 10:00 a.m.
- Hartford performance and 4th Boston performance,this Saturday, February
3rd at 10:00 a.m.
Tickets for the Buffalo performance on Thursday, May 31st at HSBC will also
go on sale soon.
