(Ananova.com) -- All 80,000 tickets for U2's huge gig at Slane Castle in August were sold in just half an hour.
Tickets went on sale at 7am and were gone in minutes.
The gig at Slane Castle comes at the end of the band's tour of the UK. The 10-hour event will also include performances by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Coldplay, Kelis, JJ72 and Relish.
U2 have already announced eight dates throughout the UK.
Tickets for the other gigs went on sale yesterday and virtually sold out straight away. The band sold 200,000 tickets in just two hours.

Re: U2's Slane Castle gig sells out in minutes (Score: 0) by Anonymous on Thursday, March 15 @ 06:42:15 CET | I would just like to say, i do like U2. However i don't think it is fair for the people who wanted to go to slane and see the other bands performing. The tickets sold out in record time, which has not been the case in previous years, so obviously i didn't get one. I think this is unfair to people who just wanted to enjoy a day out. I'm not stupid and do understand the hype made about U2, but i think it has left thousands of people bitterly dissapointed. |
