New U2 release not available in Canada

(Jam! Showbiz) -- U2's new release -- a seven-track collection of remixes and B-sides -- won't be available to Canadians.
Universal Music Canada confirmed that the CD, simply entitled "7," has been prepared exclusively for release through the U.S.-based retailer Target.
The set was to arrive on the shelves of all 1,055 Target stores Tuesday. By 4 p.m. Tuesday, the youtwo.net website reported the retailer had already sold out of their stock of "7."
It was also on sale through the company's website (www.target.com), although a check of the site on Tuesday showed no ordering options for Canadian consumers.
Meanwhile, U2 has been added as performers at this year's Grammy Awards, along with Alicia Keys, Feb. 27 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
U2 is also scheduled to perform two songs during the half-time show at this year's Super Bowl, Feb. 3 in New Orleans.
